After winning 6-gold, 5-silver and 2-bronze medals, secured us the USSC championship title once again for the fifth time. This year USSC was held at British Malaysia Institute (BMI) for four days, starting from the 18th to 21st of July 2017. The team performed well during the first two days of the round robin session, where they were in the finals for 11 out of 23 sporting events contested. However, it was a slow start for the contingent on the first day of the event's final where we did not manage to convert gold and had to settle for silver in four events, i.e. Petanque (M), Volleyball (F), Badminton Double (M) and Netball.

The final day of the USSC event begins with MIAT standing at sixth position in the overall Medal Tally, with 5-silver and 2-bronze medals, led by MIIT campus with 4-gold medals. Victory beginning to swing around when the team won its first gold medal in basketball, through a buzzer beater in a gruelling match against the host team BMI with the final score of 24 to 23. The second gold came from the Rugby team, keeping their winning streak for 8 years in a row in the USSC tournament. In the afternoon, another two gold medals contributed from the futsal event, in both male and female category. The remaining gold medal later came from MIAT Tennis team, through the mix double and single (M) category.

The Championship trophy was presented to the Chef De Mission, Mat Azlan Shafie, by the President/CEO of UniKL Prof. Dato' Dr. Mazliham bin Mohd Su'ud during an illustrious closing ceremony given by the host campus, BMI.
