A group of students from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET), Enactus UniKL tops the Ikon Varsiti BH 2012 Award in the Group Social Responsibility Project (National Category) for their Homestay Project called Inap Desa D' Orang Asli involving villages of Kampung Bukit Payong, Alor Gajah, Melaka. The team swept home the winning prize RM 5,000 in a prize giving ceremony held on January 25, 2013 at The Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur graced by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Enactus UniKL Homestay Project Inap Desa D' Orang Asli won the hearts of the juries for improving the economic condition of the indigenous villagers of Palos Hills, Alor Gajah. The selection criteria of the award were based on 80 percent evaluation by panels of jury and 20 percent from mail and online votes. Panels of jury involved were lined by three members of the National Professors Council (MPN), which were Prof. Dr. Ghizan Salleh (UPM), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zaki Abu Bakar (UTEM) and Prof. Dr. Abu Bakar Abdul Majeed (UiTM).
The ceremony was also attended by the Executive Director of News and Editorial Operations Media Prima Berhad, Datuk Ahmad A Talib, NST Group Editor, Datuk Mior Kamarul Shahid, Deputy Editor, Mahfar Ali and Secretary General Ministry of Higher Education, Datuk Abdul Rahim Md Noor.
