Diploma of Engineering Technology in Production Engineering is a three year programme offered at UniKL MSI. The curriculum is designed for student seeking to improve their personal competence portfolio in the field of production and management engineering. It will provide the individual with wide knowledge and capabilities in the planning and production control, machine operations in term of preparation, programming and machining. The students of this specialty are required to master necessary scientific, cultural knowledge and professional knowledge; the basic skill of designing, manufacturing, assembling, debugging die & mould; and the basic skill of operating and maintaining relevant equipment. And they must have the specialty skills of application and creative ability. Graduate will be engaged in production, building, management and service relevant to manufacturing of the precision mould in modern die and mould manufacture corporations and other industrial enterprises.
 

Program Educational Objective

  1. To produce graduates who are knowledgeable, competent and innovative which will contribute towards the requirement of the human capital in engineering technology related industry.
  2. To produce graduates who  have effective leadership and teamwork skills as well as verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills to support their role in industry.
  3. To produce graduates who are commited to the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
  4. To produce graduates who practice professionalism with ethics and social responsibility.
  5. To produce graduates who are capable of embarking on bussiness and technopreneurial activities.

  

Program Learning Outcome

 

  1. Apply knowledge of planning, programming, process and control of production.
  2. Interpret, analyze and apply quality criteria to production processes.
  3. Design solution for well defined production engineering technology problems and contribute to the design of system and processes.
  4. Conduct investigation for well defined production engineering technology problems and contribute to the design of system and processes.
  5. Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering tools to well defined engineering activities, concerning planning and programming of production.
  6. Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse technical teams.
  7. Communicate effectively on well defined production engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give and receive instructions.
  8. Demonstrate understanding of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities and norms of engineering technology practice.
  9. Understand and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering technology practice.
  10. Understand the impact of manufacturing industrial activities in a societal context and demonstrate knowledge of and the need for sustainable development.

Career Path

 

Graduates are able to design and manufacture tool, assemble and debug die and mould, organize automatic production, operate CAD/ CAM software and compile mould processing technology. They can also find jobs about NC machining die & mould and facility management of die & mould enterprises.
