PASIR GUDANG, JOHOR 2 December 2015 – Malaysia Research Conference and Innovation Exhibition 2015 (MRCIE 2015) was officiated by the President of UniKL, Prof. Dato' Dr Mazliham Mohd Su'ud in a grand ceremony at UniKL Malaysia Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC). MRCIE is an annual research event organized by the Research and Innovation Division, UniKL MITEC.
The two-day research conference with the theme "Towards innovation and diversity in Industrial Technology and Education" aims to bring researchers, academicians, innovators, post graduate & undergraduate students under one roof to present research results, to share ideas, to encourage research and innovation culture, to discuss on future research collaborations, to improve knowledge and skills, to exchange views and to publish research findings.
MRCIE 2015 intends to be a national level research event and welcomed participants from all over the country including from several local institutions / universities such as UniKL (MITEC, MICET, BMI, MFI, MSI, IPROM, UBiS, MIAT, MIIT, RCMP), UTM, USM, UM, UKM, UTHM, UiTM, UTeM, UUM, IIUM, UNIMAS, USIM, UMP, Politeknik Merlimau, ICAM and international universities such as Raffles University Malaysia, Wuhan University of Technology China, and Bukhara State University Uzbekistan. More than 65 innovation projects, 90 papers and 110 posters were presented at MRCIE 2015.
Prof. Dr Edward Sweeney (UK), Prof. Dr Christopher W. Stoller (Germany) and Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamed Rehan Karim (UM) were invited as keynote speakers who delivered talks on achievements and issues of modern technology and science.
Successful participants were presented with certificates, medals and special awards as an appreciation. Gold, silver and bronze medals for The Best Innovation Project Award and The Best Project Award were awarded to participants who succeeded in the innovation projects and poster presentation session in the following categories: Engineering & Technology, Logistics & Transportation, Applied Sciences and IT, Management & Entrepreneurship, Education & Social Sciences.
MRCIE provides an excellent knowledge sharing platform for staff and students, while playing an important role to encourage research and innovation. Students presented their Final Year Project findings to expert panels who judged their analysis, presentations and findings.
A MoU signing ceremony was also held during the conference where UniKL formed strategic partnerships with Aston University (United Kingdom) and the three companies mainly TWI Technology (S. E. Asia) Sdn Bhd, Planogram Expert Sdn Bhd, and Central Vista Sdn. Bhd future collaborations.
