Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) team swept six medals at the 26th International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2015) that was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from May 21 to 23, 2015. UniKL, submitting its 6 products for the competition, scored a 100 per cent success when all of products won medals of 1 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medal.
With the tough criteria set this year for the jury, a project from UniKL MSI led by Muhd Nurhidayat bin Zahelem, entitled Brake Piston Remover Tool (BPR Tool) managed to get a gold medal for UniKL team.
Among the other UniKL winners who grabbed silver medals, were a team from UniKL MIMET with a project entitled Hybrid Hull, led by En. Azman Ismail, a project from UniKL MICET, entitled Energy Generation From Catalytic Gasification led by Dr. Kelly Yong Tau Len, a project of UniKL MFI, Ecogreen CCM - Coconut Crusher Machine led by Mohd Juraidi Jamal and a project from UniKL BMI led by En. Abdul Malik Ali entitled Monitoring Of Rehabilitation Process Via Motion Analysis.
Another project from UniKL MIMET, Smart Appliance Control System Integrated With World Wide Telco Company led by En. Ahmad Makarimi Abdullah managed to contribute one bronze medal.
The 2015 ITEX was organised by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS) for a 23-category competition with the participation of more than 1,000 products from 20 countries.
Among the participating countries were Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Korea, Moldova, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United States and Malaysia.
All inventions at ITEX were judged by a panel of judges from the academia, science and technology experts, accredited bodies as well as oversea experts.
