May 11th, 2013 marked the first 100 days of Prof. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su'ud as the 3rd President / CEO of Universiti Kuala Lumpur. In conjunction with his 100 days in office, Prof. Dr. Mazliham shared his vision for the university to move forward with a reporter from Berita Harian, Basir Zahrom in an exclusive interview on May 10, 2013. Targetting UniKL to be among Asia's best universities in 2020, Prof. Mazliham highlighted the importance of establishing a stronger brand of UniKL globally through vigorous linkages with world renowned universities and key industrial players. He added that it is imperative for UniKL to transform into a research university with more research works are to be produced. In addition, experiential learning will be implemented along with the concept of UniKL becoming a teaching factory to support the R&D initiative. On his management approach, Prof. Mazliham said that plans are mapped out on restructuring the existing organisation structure of the university where there is a need to realign some roles and changes will take place soon to reflect a proactive administration. He hinted on some mergers and new division being set up to support his strategic direction. Talking on student development, Prof. Mazliham emphasized on producing graduates with a strong UniKL aura in every angle. The graduates should not only be highly skilled and resourceful, but also possess entrepreneurial characteristics, outstanding leadership qualities and be sensitive of the community. For that, he has announced the establishment of Student Development and Campus Lifestyle sector that will be focusing on several strategic moves in line with the agenda.
In addition, he plans to stress upon the concept of unity through "We Are UniKL" slogan among all staff and students of the university and introduce an open communication channel with the campus community. Prof. Dr. Mazliham was appointed as the President / CEO of UniKL on February 1st, 2013 taking the helm of the university from Prof. Dato' Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri.
