This programme is combination of mechanical and automotive engineering. Mechanical engineering is an engineering discipline that involves the application of principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. During the study, students will be given a solid understanding of key concepts including:
  1. Static and dynamics
  2. Strength of materials and solid mechanics
  3. Instrumentation and measurement
  4. Thermodynamics, heat transfer, energy conversion & refrigeration / air conditioning
  5. Fluid mechanics/fluid dynamics
  6. Mechanism design (including kinematics and dynamics)
  7. Manufacturing technology or processes
  8. Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  9. Engineering Design
  10. Mechatronics and/or control theory
  11. Drafting, CAD (usually including solid modeling), and CAM
  12. Automotive engineering

Career Path

Mechanical engineers provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plant, machinery or vehicles. They can work on all stages of a product, from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. Most industries rely on a form of mechanical systems and mechanical engineering is thought to be one of the most diverse of all engineering disciplines. There are employment opportunities available in a wide range of sectors, such as the manufacturing, automotive and industrial engineering. Mechanical engineers can also be involved in the management of people and resources, as well as the development and use of new materials and technologies.
